UC Berkeley: Product Management for Engineering Leaders

In this class, students will learn Product Management by developing a concept from idea to prototype to customer interview. Students will go from theory to reality in each session by reading the background material and then putting the techniques into practice during class.

During interactive exercises in class, students will make User Experience Maps, Solution Sketches and more to figure out the right product for the right customers. Students will form teams and choose an idea from the list of ideas provided by the instructor. They will conduct “lean startup” market tests with potential customers to understand the viability of their concepts.

The course will culminate in each team making a final presentation highlighting their process and their findings.

As future leaders, students are expected to participate regularly during class. This class is only available to Masters of Engineering students at the Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership at UC Berkeley
