AI Tip: Practical Onramp to Claude Code
The most talked about AI tool for PMs, Claude Code, has the worst user interface. I’m convinced it started as a debugging tool. It’s essentially a takeover of a Unix screen with Ascii art.
Yet, everyone is using it to become a super PM.
I struggled with understanding what Claude Code did and how to install and then wondering if this was really it. I hesitated recommending it because its so hard to get it setup and the results are hard to achieve.
That’s until I participated in this amazing 90 minute webinar from Carl Vellotti. I do not receive any monetary or other benefit from promoting this. I just thought it was something my newsletter list would appreciate.
As I see my job in Product to be a facilitator and coach, this webinar is a great way to get started with Claude Code. It’s free, you just have to give Maven your email address to watch.

You can also just DIY with his webpage devoted to this topic. You’ll want to download the files from his website before you start the webinar.

I find Claude Code to be an interesting gateway to creating tools for more complicated use cases. Carl describes several in webinar.
I used Claude Code recently to build a search engine to index and search the content of my images so I could describe the image and find the image without knowing the filename.
Give it a try!
