Podcast: Accelerate Growth with Product Discovery
So let's say you've got this interesting prototype you show it to users.
And they say, “oh i like this, that's interesting. i'd use this.”
i have to say after years of hearing this from hundreds of users that they're basically lying. They're not lying on purpose.
They just want to be nice to you.
I call this the “meh” feedback. So when you hear “that's interesting” or “i like this” don't walk away with validation.
Mind the Product: The Benefits of Squad-Led Discovery
Every Product team can and should seek out customer feedback. And not just about problems or opportunities.
Before you spend weeks or months building a solution, there should be a squad-led Discovery process to seek and incorporate customer feedback.
The "squad-led" part is the key. Otherwise, you will be dependent on someone else's priorities.
Delays are inevitable when I hear things like "I'll check with Marketing" or "we'll have to wait for our UX researcher to become available".
Using Product Discovery to Accelerate Growth
From assembling the right team to crafting the right prototype to conducting the right customer interview, every organization can use Product Discovery to find great ideas sooner and accelerate growth. On June 14th, Jim Morris, Founder of the Product Discovery Group, will present concrete techniques you can start using immediately to weed out bad ideas and focus on the good ones from 25 years of mistakes and successes.
